Relay specialist Ryan Owens is a runner to watch this season alongside his teammates on the 4X100, 4X200 and the 4X400. Owens will also run the 400-meters. Owens said the relay team is hard at work making sure they are competing at a high level this season.
“What I love most about my teammates is they never stop working hard it’s day in and day out and we push each other so that continues,” said Owens.
Now a junior at Mannford High School, Owens said he’s competed in track for six years and feels the team is putting it together for a nice run this year.
“The team is so ready to get out there and compete! We have been working hard and will continue working hard throughout the season,” said Owens.
As a student-athlete at MHS, Owens remains focused on his grades and setting himself up for the future.
“I love being a student-athlete at MHS because I have amazing coaches and teammates that push you to your very best and are really encouraging. My favorite subject is art, and my favorite teacher is Mr. Hardy. After I graduate from high school I would like to go to college for track,” said Owens.
Away from school you can usually find Owens hanging out with friends and playing video games or working out.
