Back on Track with Mannford’s Addi Pehrson – Presented by Rib Crib

This track season, Mannford High School’s Addi Pehrson will compete in the relays (4X100, 4X200, 4X400) and the open 200-meters for the Lady Pirates.

Only in her sophomore season, Pehrson said she started competing in track in the seventh grade. This season she is excited to put all of her hard work to the test.

“My strengths are my speed and competitiveness. One improvement I have been working on is my strength. I’ve been increasing my strength by working out,” Pehrson said. “During practice and competition my teammates push me and support me in everything I do.”

As a student-athlete at MHS, Pehrson said she loves the support everyone receives from the school and the coaches. The same can be said for the families and fans who support the team.

“The coaches are really helpful and push you to be the best version of yourself. The teachers are always willing to be there and make sure you are meeting all academic standards,” Pehrson said. “It means everything to me. It drives and motivates me to be the best that I can be.”

Also a basketball player, Pehrson said she is staying focused on the task at hand but is one day looking forward to possibly competing at the collegiate level.

“I want to go play college basketball and become an orthodontist,” Pehrson said. “I make and strive for goals that I want to achieve, and before competition that is what’s running through my head the whole time to get me prepared.”

For inspiration, Pehrson said she looks to her sister.

“My sister inspires me the most because of how strong she is as a person, and how supporting and loving she is,” said Pehrson.

As for a greatest achievement as an athlete?

“I am most proud of winning Tulsa 7 MVP and breaking the open 200-meter record my freshman year.”
