This track season, Mannford High School’s Adam Mendenhall is competing in multiple events and doing it in his own way. Known for having a good time, Mendenhall knows when to get serious and when to make the people laugh.
“I’ve ran track for three years now. This season I have ran the 100, and 200-meters, and the 4×400 and 4×200 relays. I love the environment at Mannford, it feels like home here. One of my favorite memories in Mannford is when I purposely fell on long jump to get everyone to laugh. I also have dove below the long jump bar, and everyone got a rise out of that,” said Mendenhall.
Mendenhall said the team enjoys competing and having fun while doing it.
“I feel like I always find a way to keep everyone entertained in laughing. The most serious teammate is most likely Noah Ellis. You guys should definitely be looking out for our 4×400 team. Mason Harvey, Cameron Rodriguez, Ryan Owens, and I,” said Mendenhall.
The junior said his parents play a huge role in his life and his favorite athlete is more of a warrior really.
“My parents have been one of my biggest influences. But my best friends also have played a big role in my life. My favorite athlete is David Goggins, because of the way he pushes himself,” said Mendenhall.
This year Mendenhall was a member of the basketball team but does not plan to play basketball as a senior. He is turning some of his focus to graduation and what comes next.
“My plan after graduation is to be either a construction manager or a detective,” said Mendenhall.
