Don’t Overlook Mannford Softball & Emma McCrakin – Presented by RibCrib

The Mannford softball team is not getting the respect they deserve.

This season Mannford has a record of 15-6 with four games left in September. The team has shown they can compete in tournaments and keep their energy levels up through the heat, long games, and any adversity thrown their way.

Emma McCrakin said the team has a bond that cannot be broken.
“We always talk each other up through the good and bad and always have each other’s back on and off the field,” McCrakin said. “I love how we all joke around and bond but take softball so seriously while having fun together.”

The junior started playing softball in kindergarten and immediately knew this was the sport she wanted to play. For McCrakin, being a student-athlete at MHS is about the relationships and trust the students share with the faculty.
“Mannford is a great place as a student-athlete because the coaches are great and teachers are supportive,” said McCrakin.

Also a basketball player, McCrakin attends Central Tech for Health Careers and plans to attend nursing school after she graduates.
“My goal is to go into nursing school and work in the NICU,” she said.

McCrakin said her strong work ethic comes from her parents.
“My strong work ethic comes from my parents because they always push me to do my best. My parents have made a huge impact in my life and so have my great coaches,” said McCrakin.

In her free time, the junior said she loves to read and spend time with friends and family.
